What you receive when ordering by the kilogram
Each kilogram contains cleaned and sorted bulbs from the same field in Gaberje. An average bulb weighs between 55 and 70 g, so individual bulbs vary slightly in size. The price is €14 per kilogram. This is a straightforward choice for a household that uses garlic regularly and wants to store it without a braid.
The garlic has not been treated with sprout inhibitors. We prepare sorted bulbs for the kitchen and keep the largest, finest bulbs from the harvest separately as seed garlic. This makes it clear whether you are ordering garlic for cooking or selected bulbs for autumn planting.

From planting by hand to a clean bulb
Our annual cycle begins in late October, when we plant every clove individually by hand. The autumn garlic lies dormant through winter, grows in spring and is lifted in late June. We leave the freshly lifted bulbs in the field for two days so the soil on the roots can dry.
We then move the garlic under cover, where it hangs in bundles for six weeks. Once the stalks feel like paper, we clean and sort the bulbs. Garlic sold by the kilogram is therefore not freshly lifted produce; it has completed the full curing process before we prepare your order.

Storage, pickup and delivery
At home, keep the bulbs in a dry, dark and well-ventilated place at around 10–15 °C. Do not seal them in a plastic bag or keep them in the refrigerator, as our garlic needs air to circulate. Properly cured and stored garlic can keep from the summer harvest until the following spring.
